God’s Love

I’ve Got a Secret

and no one — and I mean no one — knows.

But God knows.

He knows the depth of my sin and the level of wrongdoing; the unhealthy thoughts, words, and deeds; and the potential for evil that exists in the human spirit.

And do you know what? He’s not at all surprised by it.

Hebrews 4:13 – Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

Maybe you say, “I try so hard, and I just keep doing the wrong things. He must be completely fed up with me — disgusted and irritated.”

If that were the case, what was the point of God sending His Son to live among us, teach us, and ultimately die for our sinfulness?

He knew, YES. He knew from the beginning that we would fail, again and again.  But He sent His Son anyway to take upon Himself all our evil thoughts, lies, words, and deeds.  That’s the depth of His love for you and me.

A sure sign of growth is recognizing the darkness of which we are capable, yet remembering what Christ has done for us and what the Holy Spirit stands ready to do.

If we confess our sins to the Lord, repent, and begin a new life devoted to doing God’s will, we can live with hope for our eternal destiny with Christ.

But, what if I fall again?  Will He abandon me?  No.

Deuteronomy 31:8, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you, he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

This promise is to all who sincerely receive Christ.  Believers are assured that if they depend on God and love Him above all else, He will never desert them or forsake them.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Praise God for his mercy and everlasting kindness!
